Do your units have online assessments?

Come along and learn about strengthening the integrity of your online assessments.  This session will showcase the Intelligent Remote Invigilation System (IRIS) presented by Dr Lesley Sefcik, Dr Connie Price and Dr Michael Baird.

Higher education is evolving as flexible delivery of courses is becoming the norm. Increased use of online courses has made education more widely accessible, however, it has also increased the risk of cheating and fraud during online assessments.

Remote invigilation systems may help achieve a level of equivalence between online and traditional modes of study.  Intelligent Remote Invigilation System (IRIS) can monitor the audio, video and screen of students’ work environment, as well as analyse basic student behaviours using facial detection during online assessments, in order to flag behaviour that may show academic dishonesty.

This session (repeated on two dates) will introduce you to Curtin’s new remote invigilation system for improving the integrity of online assessments. It is a must attend event if you currently have or are thinking of incorporating online assessments into your coursework.
